The engine compartment is full of unnecessary wiring for sensors, computers and oily messes. I have pulled out most all of the factory wiring with the exception of the harnesses to lights, blower, and horns. Ah, simplicity....

This pile came out from under the hood, I still have under the dash to clean up. Typically most conversions leave all of the factory wiring intact and the electric vehicle system is adapted to it. I don’t like all the connectors, fuse blocks in several locations, and wiring that is not accessible. I am wanting simplicity, reliability, and maintenance friendly (at least for a person with a technical background).

I have much to add in this area, the new components, drive, convertors, PLC, touch screen computer, dash wiring, motor / battery wiring, charger wiring, safety devices such as contactors, inertia switches, breakers, fuses, and system monitoring devices.

Much more content to be added here, check back later.

Here’s a piece of locomotive cable with a lug crimped and heat shrink sealed connection. Note the custom printing on the cable of the name of this web site.
